Autumn Tree Bag

This bag actually happens to be two projects in one. I made the bag all by myself. The bag is actually my book bag for school. It holds four one inch binders, two workbooks, a text book, my lunch, my pencil bag, and any other text books I may need to bring home any other day. the most it has carried are all these things and two extra text books that don't normally come home with me. The bag is very sturdy and has two inside pockets and white fabric lines the inside. It is made of a very thick fabric that is almost canvas like perfect for painting.

Once I completed the bag I decided it was to plain for me. With this I decided to add the tree. I chose to paint a fall tree because fall colors and trees at the beginning of fall are warm and beautiful. They also tend to stand out. I took some regular acrylic paint in all the colors of fall and a few shades of brown and painted away. With lots of blending, cleaning and time I was able to make this artwork that I get to carry with me every day and am very proud of.

Ceramic House

I made this funky little house in my Art II class. It's a ceramics piece.  Ceramics is one of my favorite things to do but its very messy. Having art as my first block stopped me from looking my best for a good week or two but it didn't stop me from working my hardest.

After the house was fired I painted it with black acrylic paint and set it out to dry. once that was done the house was covered in rub and buff. Rub and buff is also very fun but stains everything. In the end it sets a nice metallic finish to the piece.
